An Instinct Born in the Field (1956–1966)
It all began in 1956, when Éric Verdavainne settled in Casablanca to work as a sales representative. As he made his rounds among the industrialists of the day, he noticed a striking paradox: a country rich in talent, workshops, and expertise, yet whose businesses remained largely invisible to one another, lacking any way to be seen or found.
That observation turned into action ten years later. 1966 saw the birth of the first sector-specific directories, bearing names that would leave their mark on generations of Moroccan business leaders to come: Kompass, Télécontact, Veto, Archibat, Ekipotel, Best of Morocco. Far from simple contact listings, these publications organized entire industries, from hospitality to construction, laying the groundwork over the years for the country's first major professional directory.
